Lamponi e Yogurt Gelato from Gelateria Sunflower
If you have a sweet tooth but don’t typically enjoy super-rich desserts, authentic Italian gelato is the way to go. While I’ve never been much of an ice cream girl, gelato is something I always seem to be craving. With a texture so creamy and light, it melts in your mouth perfectly every time. It’s never too sweet, which is something I think everyone can appreciate.
My favorite gelato shop here in Arezzo is Gelateria Sunflower. They have a smaller selection of flavors compared to most shops in the area, which helps your decision-making process feel much less overwhelming.
If you go, the lamponi e yogurt is absolutely bomb. It’s a greek yogurt base mixed with fresh raspberries blended in. The tart, sour taste of the fruit compliments the sweet cream flavor in lovely harmony.
Gelateria Sunflower is quite small, but its aura is homey and clean, serving as the perfect pit stop for an after-meal snack. The workers are very kind, and they do their best to accommodate English speakers. There are always people in line waiting to get their gelato because it’s just that good. I have come to this gelateria almost every single day since I got to Arezzo, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. So, if you are looking for a sweet treat that is guaranteed to make you come back for more, the Gelateria Sunflower is a must.
