The Perfect Croissant

Apricot jam filled croissant from Pasticceria Filli Bruschi

Hey guyssss! This week I decided to take a break from gelato and test out some of the baked goods scattered around Arezzo. I have tried many different sweets since I’ve been here, but I never could have guessed how much I would fall in love with Italian croissants. I have never been that big of a fan of croissants in America because they tend to be dry and bland. But here, it is like a whole other world. The croissants are flavorful and topped with drizzles of icing or powdered sugar, and filled with the most amazing blends of fruits, chocolate, or even nuts.

"Super delicious!" - Abbey Thigpen

My all time favorite croissant is from Pasticceria Filli Bruschi. I get the one that has jam inside and it is SO GOOD. Literally the best croissant I have ever tasted in my life. Depending on the day, they offer different flavors of filling. The one I always come back for is the apricot-filled croissant with icing drizzled on the top. They are always fresh, warm and everything but dry. The buttery bread flavor mixed with the sweet apricot filling is to die for. It is unlike any baked goods here in Arezzo. The best part about it is that it can be enjoyed at any time of day, whether it be a grab-and-go treat for breakfast, and after lunch sweet, or even a perfect dessert post-dinner, the apricot croissant has my heart forever and ever.

Pasticceria doesn’t just have croissants but all different types of perfectly fresh bakery items. It is an absolute must go when you’re in Arezzo, take my word for it!
