Holy Crepe!

Nutella Crepe from Crepes De Lune

There is something quite magical about eating a crepe in Europe–especially a Nutella one. The hazelnut spread is everywhere; I am a chocolate fanatic, so trying this felt personally necessary. As much as I didn’t want to look like a basic tourist, I was eager to check off one of my bucket list items.

I searched all over Arezzo for a Nutella crepe and finally stumbled upon the cutest restaurant called Crepes De Lune. Not only do they make crepes, but they also offer salads, juices and smoothies. My mind was already made up; I had to buy a crepe. My inner chocolate fanatic was craving a handmade, warm, and savory treat.

The crepe was huge; it dripped with Nutella and powdered sugar, and it was everything I had ever dreamed of. The presentation of fluffy dough and sugar was incredible, making me just as excited to eat it as I was to look at it. My dreams had come true. I was holding a homemade Nutella crepe–which was bigger than my face–in Italy. Finally!

The first bite fulfilled all my hopes and dreams. The crepe was the perfect soft texture, smeared in Nutella. My mouth exploded with just the right amount of sweet and savory. The powdered sugar dusted on top of the crepe was a great finishing touch. It truly made my crepe-tasting experience that much better.

Crepes de Lune brought me so much joy through just one dessert, so I recommend this quick dessert for any upcoming Arezzo travelers. I hope to eat here again and try another one of their dishes–with, of course, a Nutella crepe already in hand.
